Want to know more about Google?
Google is the most popular search engine in the world. They power themselves of course, primary results at AOL, Primary results at Amazon, and other places as well. Google's directory is from DMOZ.org. Google tends to spider once a month, and update once a month. They usually update at the end of the month, and spider at the beginning of the month. So it takes approximately 3 weeks from the time they crawl information for them to publish it. However this can fluctuate by a week in either direction. Google's spider is known as "GoogleBot." Lately though (2004) this schedule has been rarely kept to, sometimes its quicker, sometimes later. Google also provides the best diagnostic tools for webmasters. If you do not use the Google Toolbar (http://toolbar.google.com) you should. It allows you to see an approximate PageRank value for the page you are currently on, and it allows you to easily check backwards links.
